My approach to basic gear loadout and a Maxpedition Kodiak mini review.....

Nice kit but I think you could shave some more weight off if you're inclined. Not sure why you have two multitools but where I see you can save maybe 1/4 to a 1/2 a pound is in your sheaths. If you never put your flashlight or you leatherman on your belt, then there's really no point to the sheaths IMO. I'm not the UL'er who cuts his toothbrush but I do like having my pack as light as possible. Nit picky stuff but I'd try to take off all the easy weight.

Good eye.....

I do put em on my belt from time to time....Thats why they are in sheaths. When im camping, the light goes on my hip, and the multitool goes on the belt when im fishing. I just tried to weigh those 2 sheaths put together and my scale wouldnt pick em up. Gotta be an ounce maybe.... They are light!! :thumbup:
 
You'r pictures seem to have stopped working, I'd love to have a look at your kit if you could re-post the pics somehow!
 
Nice well thought out set up.

I also have my gear "modular"
I use different size stuff sacks as they are cheaper and lighter.
Depending on the walk, I know what stuff sack to take.
It also makes maintaining my gear easier.

I think you probably got items #9 and #13 doubled up. I know when i originally read the "bandana. original multitool" then seen the swisstool listed later i thought the same thing until i realized what he meant by original multitool.
 
Yup, I read that too. I see how it was cornfusin. :D
