My Ares 730: Is there any hope?

So... I know it's been a couple years, but how about those pics of it restored?
(( removed spam ))

Yeah it's SPAM. No need to come here and have 19 posts and try to pimp your Instagram pics on everyone. Kinda hokey.

And it's not been a couple of years. WTF?

Man, I can't believe it has been almost 2 years since starting this thread. I'm sure no one has lost sleep over me forgetting to update it, and I'm sure to leave anyone that was even more upset after my less-than-impressive update (and pics). Regardless, below are two quick pics I took while I remembered and the knife was handy. If I recall correctly the turnaround time from Benchmade was impressive. The blade came back to me with no more wobble and I think they did some work on the edge geometry (for the better). It still wasn't razor sharp, but definitely an improvement. My only complaint is they didn't clean the knife at all. Like, they did nothing at all. Luckily the toothpaste trick worked like a charm ;)

My favorite blade next to the AFCK, I see the links are broken for the pictures on disassembly if anyone's interested let me know and I'll fix the links. Hang onto that knife as they are very desirable, IIRC it was one of first in series of BM knives to get the Axis lock..

Read this at work, now home; congrats on how well your long lost knife looks. I own four Ares models and love 'em all. Now THAT's a great user!

I wasn't sure, I remember it had come out and I bought my 730 right when I read about it, thanks Esav.

I'll never forget that few months in 1999, when the 710 came out, followed by the 705. First ever Axis folders, and man did it change the game for me. I had the 705 in my carry-on to Europe later that year -- man, how times change.

What was the model progression through the first series of Axis lock, does anyone know offhand?
