My ASHBM got REK’d!

I've said it before but it bears repeating...

We are very, very fortunate to have so many top notch craftsmen/artists who are highly conscientious about the services they provide to us here on Busse subforum.:thumbsup::thumbsup: CAN I GET AN AMEN? :D

The compound grind lines on that Nogales clip look very impressive from the angles you've provided...pure talent and artistry to pull that off! Pair that clip with the crowned Mistress spine and you got one very refined blade there Cam!!!

The red liners really add some understated POP! Nice call on those...

Totally agree with RG, INFI optimized for one's own uses and pleasure is a thing of pure joy for anyone who appreciates the finest in edges!!!

THANKS A LOT FOR SHARING, it really capped off a wonderful day for me >>> can ya tell?;)
Absolutely, AMEN to that! :D

Tim and Whup are awesome at making laser sharp edges, and awesome at other stuff—I have specific plans for things I want to send their way—but I have to say that Josh is the Supreme Grandmaster of edge geometry and sharpness. I have two blades he has done extensive work on (that Sarsquatch I bought from you being the other one ;)) and they are the two sharpest blades I’ve ever handled.

How thin is the edge he put on it? And I assume it is holding up fine to the hard chopping? Just curious as Jerry has said that INFI does not shine its brightest at really thin edge angles (someone correct me if I am mosremembering that).

It doesn’t look especially thin to me, but I couldn’t tell you what the angles actually are. As Josh put it in an e-mail, the regrind is full flat “at the optimum geometry with a convex edge blended into the grind (so no noticeable shoulder) and a microbevel on the Wicked Edge to finish it off.” I kind of just left this part wholly up to him as I figured he is the expert here. ;)

As for holding up, I haven’t done anything extremely hardcore with it, but that log is old and dried out, and I pounded the edge into it a minimum of 30 times, along with chopping up a pile of dead branches and about a dozen tree limbs, and it shows absolutely no signs of use that I can see.
