I'm still very new to forging, only having done a few. I decided to try out some basic shapes and came up with this set.

Spike Hawk, 1080, fully hardened. Haft mde by me.

Forge finish belt knife
File steel (water quenched), bronze guard hammer finished on the face, mesquite handle, peened and domed copper pin. BLO handle finish on both.

More weak sauce !!! that is hecka stupid lookin' You should just stop trying to make stuffs!!!! OOOOOOOOh I crack myself up!! Man you are on a roll. You seem to be getting alot of shop time. You are cranking out some nice stuff dude!!what up with a sheath for the belt knife?

Great job and I like the mesquite handle a lot. Did you source the mesquite yourself or purchase it?

The mesquite was gifted to me by a knife maker buddy in TX. It is unstabilized, but nice and dry. It also sat in my wood cabinet for almost 8 months to settle to the humidity here. Great stuff to work with, I'm deffinetly going to use it more.

More pics!

Ok, I admit I was deliberately trying to fool you guys, it puts my work to the test that way. The sign of a good scale miniature is that you are unable to tell size in without any familiar objects to compare it to. I built both of these to 1/5 scale, 20% of actual size. I'm surprised that some people didn't recognize that they are minis, which makes me happy! They are both fully functional and built with the proper methods of full size knives. The most difficlt part was peening and doming the pin in the belt knife, it started as .040" copper wire. It was hammered just like larger pins and you can see the dome in the pic of the guard face.

Thanx Daniel, I've got a mini project in mind for you, hopefully I can get started on it this week.

Thanx guys! Hopefully soon I can make a "real" tomahawk based on this same pattern. I realy like how it came out.
