I was out back heat treating some blades at 6:30 this morning, looked up, and saw I had a visitor. I live in the middle of town. Just thought I would share.

Cool.

Going to work the other morning I saw another fox near my bosses house. He lives in Denver near Wheat Ridge. Lots of fox in my area in the foothills. They must be doing well to live in the city.

This one was on my neighbors porch.

Nice pics! We had a family of foxes in our backyard. Wonderful rodent control! (no more darn squirels! :D)

We had a "dog" coming to my front door for a few weeks begging for food. My wife would give him some dog food or scraps and I kept warning her not to feed strays. Finally, one day I was home when he came around. She says "Oh, come here hon, the dog is here".

I go into the kitchen and look out the window to see my wife standing about 2 feet from a fox with severe mange and froth all around his mouth. This went on for weeks before I saw him. She says that he had never let her get that close before.

I found him dead on the road about a week later.

Cool pics.
The only animals that prowl my backyard are my fat Beagle and my pit bull/ retriever mix (who oddly is smaller than either of those breeds)
However, we have plenty of deer in the woods behind our house.
I would do more stuff in those woods, except for the moccasins.

Funny you say that John, I was heat treating a couple of days ago and watched 6 groundhogs in my neighbors yard. A mother and 5 young. I thought where is my 22-250. :D

I love red foxes. They are just too cool.

One of the few wild animals I remember seeing in the Asian desert that wasn't a lizard or a rat was a fox.

nice pics!

got to see a fox playing around underneath my deerstand a few years ago.., watched him for prolly 30 minutes before he finally walked off.., really neat to see animals up close like that.

Nice...we get a lot of wildlife here where I am. Last night, we were biking home from a market and rode along next to a fairly spooked coyote as he tried to find somewhere to escape from us...big ditch full of water blocking his escape! He ran for a few hundred feet and we had a good look at him. Erin had never seen one before! But we do hear them howling around our place pretty often.

We also have a couple of beavers that live out back, a couple of hundred feet from our house. There are raccoons all over the place, and a lot of muskrats. And of course we have geese, ducks, herons, harriers, bald eagles and ravens all over everywhere here.

What's funny is that I live in a city of between two and three million people...but there is still abundent wildlife all around my house. Including skunks, as my dog is constantly pointing out.
