I got mine already! I'm flipping a blue and green one right now, and it's very, very cool.
The best part is, nobody will ever mistake this thing for a weapon. There's just no way you could hurt somebody with this thing- almost any other pen would make a better weapon. It is very "toy" oriented, and that's good thing. I don't see any problems with carrying a Baliyo on an airplane or anywhere else a "real" bali would be a problem. So you can "get your flip on" anywhere!
Awesome!
When I tested out a prototype Baliyo at Blade a few weeks ago, I was a little concerned about the plastic that was being used. At the time, it seemed that the one I was flipping was a "rapid prototype" (made on a 3D prototyping machine) and would be modified before it hit production. It appears I was correct. The plastic in the production version seems much sturdier, and is much better finished overall. Also, the production models differ from the prototypes in that the surface is now smooth. The prototypes were "grooved" (from the 3D machining, I believe). I like the production model much better than the prototype, and I liked that quite a bit. It flips very nicely. What a cool little gizmo!
I really hope these things are a hit, and we see them go into mass production, and into the pockets of kids (and adults) everywhere. They could indeed be the next craze, like yo-yos or hula-hoops were back in the day.

Here we go. I like the packaging. These blister packs would look right at home in any number of retail stores. The Discovery Store, Brookstone, Toys R Us and Target come immediately to mind.
