Hi, I am considering buying the Beating Heart. Here it is compared to a FSH .270 thick.

Thx so much for replying! I agree a thicker spine gets that wedge going! It would work for batoning and an overall great camp knife. But if batoning would be the primary function I would get one of the .320 thick HHFSH knives. That has much more of a wedge profile. The Beating Heart is only .210 thick.
Just my humble opinion.
But remember we are talking about knives that can be pounded through a piece of rebar. The Beating Heart will work.
Currently Busse is only offering the MOAT with a .370 spine. Everything else is .210 in there currently available knives!
Another toast, another drink!Knice!

Another reason I like Beating Heart is the weight at 20.5 once's. Could easily serve as a belt knive! Pretty versatile.
