mmm, troubled waters without perhaps more news releases... we and i tried with the FAQ and many pictures, and links... some super curious people found them. i'm noticing a lot of folx with double digit or less total post counts finding this forum, and chiming in. this is good.
as for the weight change? if someone at a bar could tell the difference in weight, 5 times in a row, blindfolded, i'd buy them a drink; but they buy me a drink for every miss... i think i'd be drunk fast

I have my own collection of BK2's, Camillus, Ka Bar original, and now The Ka Bar Pommel version. After I talked to DC I went home and got my original Ka Bar BK2 out, as far as the weight go's I could pick it out of a crowed 100 out of 100 times. As for the performance; I don't think it should be a problem. This is one though stout tool.
You do a good job with the FAQ's and pictures however, remember this forum in viewed by a small percentage of the knife users/Becker customers. With that in mind even the folk that read through the forums can easily miss posts. I notices if you don't catch them right away they can migrate to the second page quickly. I don't think there is any sure proof solution to that problem. As Ethan mentioned, he and Ka Bar are aware of this and they will come up with a better plan in the future.

I really do NOT want to say this but, I DO hope the Tacoma Kid loves his "new" BK2 cause other wise I am gonna be on e-bay hunting up a NIB "old" BK2.....I took the last one in the house that is unused and put it in the give away box at the Shindig on saturday !!!!!....I thought I had several (hell I KNEW I had several) but, I am getting the dreaded old timers with increasing frequency......

i've been seeing a few 1st gen KaBars on ePray and the various forums for sale, here and there, for good prices. no lack of trying to find for those. i have ONE, but it's a keeper, for the obvious reasons.

I'm pretty sure you can make the drive to NY, but as far as impersonating Toooj, I don't think you can get away with it. He works there everyday, and they know him pretty well. He doesn't walk around drooling on all the knives, whereas you... well... They'll spot you right away, just because of the massive amount of drool overflowing your lip, running down your chin, and overflowing your spittle catcher. The slobber all over the new blades will be a dead give away, for sure. Nah, you'll never get away with it... but if you do, take pictures.

I'm guessing you have more old ones than they do, too; it would be the new, secret, unreleased ones that would make you drool. At least they would me. They'd find me sitting surrounded by prototypes, and babbling like a demented five year old: "oh, look... new toys! So shiny! Me want to play!"
Then they'd call security, who would drag me out and throw me off loading dock B (still babbling, of course).
