This is old stock desert ironwood that came from the estate of an old wood turner. We got this from another burl dealer when we went on our redwood burl hunt the other day. These blocks were cut from my last piece of the ironwood. I cut this piece last because it was the most difficult. It also yielded the nicest blocks after 2 days of cutting and trimming.
These blocks might seem a bit expensive at first glance. I decided to cut this piece with the only considerations being size and quality. There was a lot more work and waste, but I think they are worth the extra money. Most of these are big enough for a bowie, large fighter or maybe a couple smaller knives. The majority of these pieces are near perfect with little or no flaws.
These photos show both sides of the blocks wiped with a damp cloth to give a better idea how they will look finished.
When you see blocks you want, just post "I'll take #s ...." and I will mark them sold for you. US shipping is $2.50 each or $10 for as many will fit in a flat rate box.
