Just finished this little guy. Sold it to a friend who is law enforcement hence the blue liner.

"sealgair"

OAL 8.5"
Aldo's O-1 .125, heat treat by Darrin Sanders
1/4 Mosaic pins
Cocobolo scales (not stabilized)
Blue liners

My first time using cocobolo and it is definitely a fantastic looking wood. I am still having issues getting the angle of the bevels the same, but I am getting better at it so just a matter of time.

Nice work. Probably the best blade your buddy owns

Looks great, the only thing I'd say (and this is nit picking only because I've seen it pointed out to other folks who use mosaic pins on here) is to make sure they're rotated the exact same way. In your 4th pic the one towards the butt looks like it's not the same as the one in the front but I could be wrong. Other than that great looking knife!

I agree. When I put the grooves into the pin I spiraled it instead of straight across the pin. It spun when tapping it into the handle. Live and learn :)

Very nicely done. Clean and well finished. Looks thin and nimble like a real slicer.... I really like the overall final finish on it, durable and attractive. Typically I'm not a fan of mosaic pins as they can be overdone, are too many of them, or they don't compliment the knife. None of those things are true here, and they look perfect on this knife. Nice clean sheath that compliments the knife beautifully.
And of course, anything for a LEO is special. :)

Thanks Eric. I didn't want to get rid of this one lol. Guess I will just have to make another but better.

Very nice, love the wood grain on that handle!

I do as well. Got most of my material from Jantz. Extremely happy with them. Talked with them several times and I always hang up with a smile and warm fuzziness with their quality of customer service.

A trick on the mosaic pins, put a slot (not deep) in the pins and once they are in the handle, you can use a slotted screwdriver to clock them to make them even. I screwed up a couple before I got this tip.

Hey good idea. So simple but never thought of it. Thank you

wow, very good looking. I am still struggling really bad with my knives. What did you use for your grind (primary flat grind). I need to work on getting an even grind with a plunge line. That is my biggest question for now. I just want to work on getting a nice clean finish even if it comes out with grind lines but still looks good, however I would love a nice satin finish.
