Here's one I finished up today. The handle is burl, however if someone can identify it, I'd be appreciate it! I was thinking it's Afzelia, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. Have a pretty good amount of it too! Let me know your thoughts...

Blade: Flat ground 3/16” O-1, hand sanded to 400 grit
Heat treated by Peters’ Heat Treat to RC 59-60
Handle: Mystery Burl
Pins: Stainless Steel Corby Bolts
OAL: 15 1/2”
Blade Length: 9”

I like the design and the mystery handle material. Great job!

Eric,
Very nice. I like the design a lot. I think that burl is probably either maple or box elder.

Actually it's perpendicular to the spine, the plunge is angled if that's what you're referencing...

Thanks, guys! I know it's not maple but it could be box elder. It was a 6"x6" block that I picked up with a bunch of other stuff at a place out in Oregon. Had it stabilized by WSSI but wish I had marked all the stuff when I got it :grumpy:

It was done full hard by Peters' Heat Treat. If this was W2 or 1095 where I could have gotten a hamon, I would have definitely done it up :)

Maybe it is maple. It was a shopping spree and I grabbed everything that looked nice :D

Looks good Erik! My first guess would be maple too but its hard to say for sure from the pics.

If you send it to me I may be able to figure it out;)

Again, it looks good.
Take care

That is an Awesome Lookin Knife Eric! and the handle just sets it off!

Id say Maple or maybe Buckeye burl?
