It has been 2 months to the day since I clicked the "Purchase" button on my BK14. In those two months my Eskabar has become my almost constant companion. She's already been through a lot with me, and I've done a lot to her; she has been sharpened, dulled, sharpened again, stripped, etched, patina'd and jimped. Not to mention I've used the hell out of her. Now I've finally gotten her just how I want her and wanted to give her a little something back.

In today's mail I received the final piece to make her complete, a Skystorm Leather pocket sheath:

I may have mentioned before that I am NOT a patient person when it comes to waiting on new goodies (in fact I started a whole thread about it here) so when I placed my order with Skystorm I tried my best to forget that I had done so, or the wait would kill me. Needless to say I couldn't forget about it, but let me just state that the wait was worth EVERY SECOND. I love this sheath.

Sky's leather-work is immaculate, not a stitch out of place, and it fits my BK14 like a glove. I didn't realize how thick/sturdy the leather would actually be, which is great as I was somewhat worried about how it would hold up in my pocket (I'm not exactly a small guy).

This (the knife and the sheath) is truly something I'm going to treasure for the rest of my life, and I'm sure I'll be able to hand it down to my son some day (he is 5 and is already eye-balling it). Thank you Ethan and thank you Skystorm!

that's a really nice, clean rig.
Mmmmm....

That's pretty durn snazzy!

I like his 14 belt sheath, the crossdraw one. I need to order it sometime, I think it would fit several of my EDC blades. Like the Red Velvet Daizee-WonderKnife.

Nice 14! Looks good.
Sky's leather is always impressive!
That's a sweet set up you got.
BTW...Purple looks good on ya!

I like it. Although you should totally clip the 14. Maybe get the zytel scales or pick up some nice ones from Tommy...

Once I saw thrillbilly's I seriously considered it. I'm not sure I have the equipment to do it properly though.

As for scales, this one is staying as in to keep it thin for my pocket. I did just order another BK14 with Izula micarta, which will be a different story.

not arguing, since you have it in possession and should know...but the 14 WON'T fit in the other side?? It looks larger then the actual sheath side? I'm confused LOL

Clippin is easy.... I just drew a line back from the point with marker, then passed it on a bench grinder, dipping in water between each pass. then cleaned it up with sandpaper. I'm sure you could use a file, or a hand-grinder with similar results. Main thing is to be sure of your lines/pattern, maintain right angles, keep the spine squared/flushed to the grinder and not to get it hot. I used the BK17 as a template....but left the clip straight instead of concave.

Glad you like it! Pocket sheaths are under rated, I love them for small blades.

I do NOT recommend a knife in the other side, The knife side has an internal welt for the blade otherwise you will eventually cut through the stitching which will result in me laughing at you and having you send it in to get it restitched. That being said, if someone wanted to carry 2 knives I could probably work something with that.

The pocket sheaths are interesting, do you have any problems getting in back in blindly in your pocket?
