Received some more pics today from Alan. He wanted to make sure the clip and location for the clip are what I had in mind. I wanted tip up carry and I wanted a short fat pocket clip. He still has more to do but you can see pretty much the final shape of the black micarta handles and you can see the stone wash finish on the blade.

That thing is SWEET. Y'know, it only slightly has any BK2 lines or design to it... it's much more of an "inspired by" artist's interpretation of a BK2.

Damn... I thought I wanted an Alan Davis knife. Now I want two Alan Davis knives :)

I think its as much a BK 2 as it can be to be a folder and size wise still be a little practical, 3/16th is still the thickest blade on a folder I have ever heard of. 1/4" is just not very doable if you ever wanna carry the thing in your pocket and not have it pull your pants down. Being a folder the blade can't be longer than the handle it has to be a little smaller unlike the BK2. Of course the thong hole would be an issue, it could have been there but not be functional so why bother. The rest is just cuz I prefer it and this is my first custom folder so I wanted the things I have seen on other custom folders, titanium hardware anodized blue, fileworked liners, and a blade that wasn't mirror shiny ( a trait pretty much all my knives share )

As to the rest, my BK2 doesn't have black grivory handles or screws and the blade isn't black anymore either, it has custom black micarta handles, SS pins and the whole thing is beadblasted. So actually this folder bears more resemblance to my idea of a perfect BK2 than what the original from the factory is.

Here is a shots sans scales and you can see it be a pretty good resemblance to a BK2 also a shot of my customized BK2

Flat ground bk2.

You know the way to this clocks heart.

It's coming along nice. I'm still quite impressed.

Looks really nice!!
Have you seen Dawson Bobs BK2 folder? It was just photoshopped, never got this far.

Final blade thickness ended up being a little more than 3/16" at .210

Kept the filework simple so it didn't lose any meaness ;)

I would definitely get one if Ethan decided to put that in production. The only thing I see that MIGHT be a problem is the liner lock. I think it should engage a little more, or maybe switch to a frame lock. Still, awesome blade man!

As Alan pointed out the liners are .085 thick so basically it's a framelock with scales.
