As some of you may or may not know I have been EDCing my BK2 for almost a year now and I know some people think it's silly to have such a large knife on your belt day in and day out but today just having it defused what could have been a super shitty situation.

Here is the picture myself and my girlfriend are house sitting someones apartment for a few weeks but we can not park in the parking lot so I have been parking my Jeep and she has been parking her work van on the street. This afternoon I go out to the Jeep to look for screw that ironically enough fell off my new sheath for my BK2 and I am looking for it in the Jeep when all of a sudden I get tapped on the back and I freak out and jump up!

It's the guy who owns the house that we parks on the street in front of and he says "You need to move your Jeep and van now" I say "what? who the hell are you?" this goes back and forth a bit and he is stepping closer to me and he has his right hand pulled up in the sleeve of his jacket so I can't see his right hand and he has an aggressive stance and all I could think of was "f*** hes got a gun or something" so I put my hand on my BK2 and pull it up just a bit so it unlocks from the Kydex, at which point he shows his right hand and he just has a big rock and is all like "sorry I just get sick of people from the apartment building parking in front of my place" and kind of walks away.

I then went and moved the the Jeep and Van and all I could think was holy shit this guy was going to hit me in the head from behind cause I parked in front of his house on the street in the city for a few days.

Thank god I had a somewhat large knife with me like my BK2!

Ill EDC this thing forever!

You need to EDC a BK-9 in that neighborhood. You've seen Crocodile Dundee, right? :D

Next time stick that BK2 in his neck, know not really

But if you do, get some pics.

No kidding! That might be the next step!

Yeah tell me about it... He really took me guard... I mean how many times have we been digging around in a car looking for something and kind of unaware of the world around you as you do this? You would never expect someone to want to hit you in the head with a rock as you do this.

You know what I like about that situation? There was no gun involved. Chances are if there was, one of you would have been shot. 'Course, you would have brought a knife to a gun fight, and that's no good. But, fact is a violent altercation nearly occurred w/out guns and no one got injured. 99.99% chance that guy is carrying a gun now, though.

Glad you're safe, glad you didn't have to kill him, and glad you had your BK2 with you. I don't promote violence, but rest assured I know what it is and how to use it.

Flexx, I no what you mean. If the guy asked me to move, I would have told him KNOW!!!

Once again glad your ok, was your BK2 scared?:)

PS, if he couldn't see the knife, I bet he thought it was a gun clearing a kydex holster, just a thought, most folks don't back down from a blade.

Glad you're ok, but I'm waiting for the sequel...you know.. where you write about the shovel, the bag of lime, the practiced "No, officer, I don't know what ever happened to that guy" look. Come on, share the details :)

Yeah the whole thing is messed up! I carry my BK2 all the time not because I live in a bad area or anything like that, I just have it on my belt because I like it and I often am camping at the river weekly and I just leave it on my belt but this has gotten me things about a more "tactical" knife instead for around town.

I just find it crazy that someone that owns a house with street parking out front that's public property doesn't like people parking in front of his house to the point where he is going to try and attack them.

I can't wait to get out of this hood tomorrow.

Depends on what you mean by "street parking." Do you mean that there are designated spots?

I live in a neighborhood where folks don't park on the street unless there's a party or something. If people repeatedly parked in front of my house, I'd first say something (nicely) to them. If they didn't move their vehicle, I'd call the cops since there's no designated parking on my street. A car sitting out in the road is just a traffic hazard, and a car on my lawn is... well... a car on MY lawn. I have seen people parked on the street, and I've gone out to see what they were up to. On a couple of occasions, I've suspected that the occupants of the vehicles were casing. A few of us on my street and the adjacent street take our neighborhood safety seriously, and we try let outsiders know that they are being watched, even to the point of calling police for a drive-by check.

Now, one street over, the houses are built on a pretty severe incline, and it's normal practice for the residents to park on the street. Apparently, their weak ass vehicles can't handle the incline. I don't know. But it does make that street look cluttered, and I'd be willing to bet it affects property values, if only slightly.

No designated spots, just free public parking on both sides of the street.

Here most of the house don't even have drive ways so its normal for people to park on the street.

If he doesn't like street parking he should have moved some place like yours where everyone has a drive way but here its common to see like whole blocks of houses where no one has a driveway or a garage.

This guy way just an crazy jerk in my view.

So, a guy comes from his house, and the best "weapon" he can find is a rock?
Not a tire iron, or a bat, but a rock? Granted you can kill with a rock, but seriously, a rock?

Hey Widerstand....

Glad you are OK....Glad you had a defuser handy and glad he had a rock NOT a gun or knife.....Glad you are OK.....

Has the adrenaline stopped pumping ???........Sometimes after a close call it seems to last too long......

Why do idiots put themselves AND us thru this crap---and over WHAT????.....A PARKING place.....An armored car full of loot maybe but, a PARKING place.....Un-effing-believable.......

Glad you are OK.......

All Best....

Really......I'd have an SAR-1 strapped to my back, a 9mm in my waistband, an aluminum tee ball bat in one hand and a kukri in the other..........among other knives stashed on my person.

But anyways, what a jerk. If you get pissed that people are parking ON THE STREET you should move out to the country.

I can understand him getting mad if parking spots are getting stolen, but nobody owns the road in front of their houses. Someone I know was telling me they had a neighbor come up to their door, knock on it and then TELL them to move their car that was parked on the street in front of their house.

I wouldn't have greeted them very neighborly.

Alright, that made me laff, mostly, because I thought the same thing. But, I've said before, if I gotta bash a guy off me, where's the rock.

LMAO.

If he would have had a pry bar it would have been a even fight....

Glad you were alright.

You said he tapped you on the back, so I don't think he was sneaking up to bash your head in. He probably just grabbed something in case the situation got out of control. Which can happen when people yell.

He thought you had a gun, I would think.

Why is it YOU PEOPLE think you can park your vehicles all over public streets paid for with public taxes, just makes me sick.:D:D

Glad tou were alright, stay safe.

Sounds like he got all puffy trying to defend his perceived territory.
Next time mark your territory, by slamming your BK2 through the hood of his car.:D

@ Moosez, I caught that, you're sick and twisted.. :p

OP: that dudes pretty hardcore wanting to smash your face with a rock, I mean you know he lives there.. and he knows whoever face he smashes will also know he lives there.. and he simply doesn't care, yeah its not his street but I think you did the best thing by moving the cars away from this psycho, it will only escalate from here if you screw with him.. next time he'll bring the gun out..
