My BK2 saved me!

That could have turned out VERY badly in lots of different ways.

+1 on he probably thought you were pulling a gun. The kydex "click" sounds about the same on the BK2 as it did on my kydex holsters for my Glocks. The BK2 is a helluva knife, but it is just a knife. You were lucky a rock is all he had. With that being said, having a knife is tons better than not having any thing at all, as long as you are willing to get up close and bloody if need be.

Glad it turned out ok.

Stories like this make me glad I live in a tiny little town where for the most part everybody minds their own business.

No designated spots, just free public parking on both sides of the street.

Here most of the house don't even have drive ways so its normal for people to park on the street.

If he doesn't like street parking he should have moved some place like yours where everyone has a drive way but here its common to see like whole blocks of houses where no one has a driveway or a garage.

This guy way just an crazy jerk in my view.

That's a different story then. Without a reserved space, it's first-come, first-serve.
What do your carry laws look like? If the neighborhood is that bizarre, I'd probably pack a little something more.

I like Flexxx's idea. Next time you're in front of his place, maybe you should pee in about a 16 x8 spot. With a big rock in your other hand. :D

a large rock presented in a threatening manner represents a lethal force situation. I would be inclined to use my firearm if the individual came at me with that rock. A blow to the head with an object like that can certainly cripple and kill. Many humans have been dispatched in that manner through history. Strangely enough, many jurists look down on a knife as a weapon for a street thug more than a firearm. I would stay out of that area and also park elsewhere. If it came down to lethal force you wouldn't want it to appear as just a dispute over a parking space that escalated in you stabbing or cutting the guy. In most places, street parking is public space but its not worth killing or dying for. Unfortunately, there are many crazy people who will hurt you for less. Staying aware of who or what is around you is the best first level of defense...Take Care and Stay Aware...

And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.
So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.

Your lucky that you can have a knife on you. I live in New Jersey and carrying a BK2 or any other knife without a reasonable need will get you locked up. Self defense does not qualify and will automatically define your knife as a weapon because of intent to use it as such. Of course many do carry folding knives and hope we never get caught.

I'll see your biblical quote and raise you a Nuge, "A cue ball in a sock ain't very tactical, but one shot to the grape and its coloring books from there on."

That's sad... Seems like most of the east coast is like that.

Nuge!!!

Sorry, had to get that out.

Best thread ever!

A couple of posts here made it seem like it's just a knife. Just a knife, man oh man.
At that range a knife is real deadly man. If'n a body knew what he was doin he could absolutley take apart an attacker faster with a knife than with a pistol.
Not trying to really get into the details of it all but a cut is most likely gonna bleed more and induce shock quicker than a gunshot.
At contact distance I'd take a small knife over a pistol most times I guess.

I love Ted Nugent, and I love his ridiculously extreme un-political correctness. The man is out there, but he tells it like he sees it and ain't afraid to tell you if he thinks you are a dumbass.:thumbup::thumbup:

Key part of that in bold.

The BK2 could do some serious damage to a human....

You could turn a person inside out before they pulled the trigger if close enough
