My Blade 2015 Keffeler Haul

I handled that sword at Blade....excellent piece, you are the owner of a fine blade, and I have tested one of Dan's blades in full mount and found to be of the highest level of performance.

Also picked up an aikuchi from him, but requested that he make mine with a tsuba....it will be more attractive and functional that way, in my opinion. The Turk's head does not offer enough protection the the fingers when you are feeling particularly "stabby" in my experience.

Great get for you!

Best Regards,

Dan came by my table during the show, so I got to handle this sword and aikuichi, as well as another sword. *Very* awesome! Good haul, man! :D

Really wish I had gotten to see and handle his competition cutter. Very curious to examine his Tero Tuf/neoprene handles.

Yeah I got to play with that Super Assassin variant he had. He was letting that thing for for a steal too at only $4K.

His knives feel good in the hand. I suspect you could chop all day with that thing. No hot spots, very ergonomic.

Thank you. Yeah. I'm not sure about the aikuchi as a fighting blade. I carry it in my versapack as an EDC utility knife. And at that it excels for sure. I have a feeling in reverse grip with thumb capped over the butt... it could be quite stabby though.

But I've seen a few of his tantos with tsuba... quite lovely. These two examples spring to mind... the first of which I have told Dan I want him to make me one of.

It's a bit over a 5" blade....you can pretty much go through JUST ABOUT any part of the human body with a blade that size.

There are schools of thought for maximum length and schools of thought for ease/quickness of deployment and concealment....they all have strengths and weaknesses...trust me, 5" blade will get the job done.

By using a palm-loaded grip, it could be quite stabby too.
I am still surprised that a lot of knuts do not know about this grip.
