last week i purchased the osborne 940 satin plain edge from blade hq. after inspecting the knife it says s90v not s30v. is something wrong or did i get a random knife with a different blade? thanks.

Hope link works sorry if it doesnt

could you probably bought a special edition?
And S90v is a better score too..

s90v is an upgrade, can't help you from there because your link does not work. But if the order was correct that means you probably paid a good deal more money than your intended s30v version. There also could of been a mix up in the shipping department and you scored  BTW BladeHQ is a very popular/ well reviewed seller.

Your link is a link to your hard drive "C:\", to which we don't have access to. Try hosting the image on one of numerous picture hosting sites and copy that link.

A) did you intend to buy the s30v version and pay the s30v price?
B) does it have the green aluminum handles?
C) does it have CF handles?
D) did you pay close to $260 for it?

If A+C= true, then someone at BladeHQ messed up and sent you the wrong knife. It would be the gentlemanly thing to do to let them know of their error.
If C+D=true, then you bought the 940-1 with the s90v blade.
If A+B=true, then someone on Benchmade's assembly line messed up and you are one lucky dog!

Count your blessings my friend, you just made off like a bandit.
Still, I might contact BladeHQ and at least inform them of the mix up.
No question I would keep the knife, mistake or not. Just think of the person who pays 260-300 for CF handles and an S30V blade, sad day for them.

Could be they just marked the blade incorrectly in the factory. However, if it holds an edge forever then its likely someone screwed up at BM and it IS a S90V blade from a limited 940-1 in a regular 940 and you scored BIG time! :D

It sounds like you got lucky! I had a 300-1 with a D2 blade instead of 154cm. Just consider it an upgrade!

Yes I hope it's the real deal and not a misprint but the blade is stonewashed so I'm pretty sure it was the 940-1 blade. What r the chances.

Im curious how many knives were "made" from the factory like that.
Is there a designated model with the stock 940 scales and a s90v blade?
Congrats on the score! That is sick. With my luck, I would be the sucker purchasing the 940-1 and get the s30v blade. This is yet another reason to record your opening of boxes of knives.

Haha yeah it is sure lucky. When I first saw it I had to quadruple take to make sure I wasn't going crazy. Then I checked my bank statement and everything was good.
i also checked if they had a model with the blade and handle combo but there wasn't any.

Wait, what if BM has recently upgraded their standard S30V line to S90V for the same pri.....bahahaha almost wet myself.

I tell you what, for the sake of the crowd, I'll sacrifice my S30v 940 and trade you. Even Steven.

I've still been thinking about this all day, I'm suddenly compelled to empty my bank account into a pile of 940's hoping to hit the jackpot like you did.

Enjoy your very special knife.
Here's a gratuitous carbon pic.
