My BOB list...whats missing?

I also say thumbs up on your bible. A small religious book or object of devotion can be a real life saver and desrves a place in your BOB. One thing that I have found helpfull but rarely see mentioned in this forum is Babywipes. I always carried these when I was in the service and out in the field and they are great for your daily hygene needs. They can also serve as TP. Personal hygene in the field will next to water and food be the most important thing in keeping up your physical spirits. Babywipes give you TP, Disinfectant and a clean smell all in one small case.

What is this for? Sounds like a mining job..LOL

Is this a 72 hrs pack?

Is this being store away for future use?

the quarters should be part of the 500.00. think of gold coins for future barter.

Bivy sacks work very well. They also keep you warm also.

Think of the type of mission or goal you plan on doing as alot of extras that can bog you down as you stated can't get water in your B.O.B.

Think of the carrying system, I still like the trusted ALICE packs and the Vector packs that have more room that have room for sleeping bag. They do make cover (waterproof) for these bags, and prevent snagging things.

As for baby wipes get the non perfume kind and make sure the resealable lid or pack closes tight.

They last a long time but dry out as well. Get the small pocket ones also so the main ones can be for hygine clean ups.

Rather having two of the light and radios try and get spare parts for them. If you want two have a small one and med size one.

If this is an urban suburban situation-------- you might be able to get water late at night from almost any home in the neighborhood on the outside water faucet. Ya gotta be careful and just crack it a titch so it does not make any noise. This is risky but it beats dieing of thirst. If there are lakes in the urban area you can get water there and use water purification type supplies. Get maps and learn the area.

I would add some sort of tinder. Lots of good threads here on cotton and petroleum jelly.

Add duct tape wrapped around a fake credit card or hotel room key to save space. Gotta have duct tape.

I would ditch the iodine pills for 2% tincture of iodine. You can treat A LOT more water (5 drops per quart), longer shelf life, and serves dual purpose as an antiseptic.

A few safety pins and needle and thread.

Depending on where you will have it with you, signal mirror.

Good luck!
