Bawanna spent some time with my HI bowie family, and he checkered their handles. The work is amazing, absolutely top notch. I love the feel the checkering gives to the handles. I loved the handles before, but now, they're just unbelievable, I never knew what I was missing! Here is some pics of my beauties.

Job well done Bawanna!

Wow That is Beautiful Work. is the 15inch still considered a MicroBowie?

In order from small to the largest. Mini Micro Bowie (or IBBB (itsy bitsy Bawanna bowie)), Micro Bowie, and full HI AK Bowie.

I think those are an IBBB (8 1/2"), a mini-AK (10") and a "standard" Ak (12") (approximate lengths, as they vary +/-). One of these days I'll be sending my AK bowie family to Bawanna for some of his amazing checkering work.

Good pics Cul. That background color works very well.

They got there pretty quick, not quite as quick as Auntie maybe but still quick.

Just about slipped my 10'' in to enlarge the set but being a wood handle I figured it wouldn't match. Ok, ok, I just wasn't that nice a guy.
Actually it would fit well wood, horn, wood horn. Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl.

Hmmmmm........

Happy to do em for ya, kind of gave me a hankering for a 15" too. Your a bad influence on me.

Actually I was delighted to see Cul's IBBB was an original 1st run addition. So it's only 7 1/2" give or take a bit. It was a joy to hold for me. That was actually the toughest one to send back. It's a really good one too. Perfect and sharp to boot.

And whenever your family is ready to go under the checkering tools, I'm ready. Send em up. Getting into the nasty weather quality bench time of the year round these parts.

Agree with Steve, Skipline is my favorite.

Cul's Classy checkered collection of Bowies beautified by Bawanna :D

look like they might need a wipedown with a bit of mineral oil to bring out the wood just a bit. Or might just be the picture, but they sure do look great and I know from experience they feel awesome in the hand.

I see that too Shavru. I oiled em really good, can't believe they are dry already. I'm thinking it must be the picture.

I do see a bit of debri on the IBBB photo 1 which is just something foreign. A quick tooth brush sweep and it'll be good as new.

They definitely come alive when the oil hits em.

It's just the pic, they were oiled pretty good by Bawanna, before they got here. I didn't have time to remove some of the debris with a toothnrush just yet, I took the photos no more than 10 seconds after removing the protective wrapping.

They do look nice though, just as they are.

Yur eyeballs hurtin yet Bawanna? I was wondering what you were up to? You and Pugs been pretty dang quiet lately? Thats a sharp downtown set of Bowies cul! I really do like the full skipline look! Well done brothers!

Beautiful work Bawanna and nice bowies Cul... I love the look of skip line checkering and the diamonds remind me of the old 1911 double diamond checkering. Impressive to say the least.

I figured Bawanna oiled em down good when he finished. My IBBB was so much better taken care of when he sent it that all the other blades in my collection were jealous LOL. I just thought maybe they had been packed for mailing in something that dried em out. Glad it was just reflections or lighting in the picture. I always seem to have problems with getting the reflection bouncing off the blade too much and blowing out the image where it reflects. I used to think I was a decent photographer until I tried getting good shots of knives LOL.

I haven't heard that double diamond term in years. I know exactly what your talking about. I think I still have a set someplace but I'm pretty sure skip line and double diamond are the same thing. I'll have to try an confirm that.

Thanks all for kind words.
