+1 I had to sell the one I had because I could not get over the stupid logo. And the fact that Steve Austin supposedly designed the knife when we know it was A.D.There's just something about the BROKEN SKULL I don't like.
Thought some crappy pictures would bring come color to the thread. My blue broken skull next to a lawman in xhp and orange spyderco millie for comparisons of size and thickness.

I insist all my knives be designed by wrestler / actors ! Who better ?+1 I had to sell the one I had because I could not get over the stupid logo. And the fact that Steve Austin supposedly designed the knife when we know it was A.D.
Nice job. I prefer it without the dlc. Here's mine with coating removed using 1X30 sander and hand sanding.
............and bad large silly 80s style font, silly name, and billboarding, etcNice job. I prefer it without the dlc.
The Mercator is a great, classic knife. But the Broken Skull would beat the holy hell out of it in a street fight, lol. While I do love my old K-55 , it cant compare to the more robust, modern design of the Broken skull. But as MANY people have already said,I wish they would make it without all the crap writing on the blade.Don't like the name, billboard blade, but do like the size and thinness? Get a Mercator.

A little black nail polish goes a long way for correcting lettering we don't like to see. I tried a sharpie just now and it covers it up from afar but it still shows through pretty readily up close. I don't care that much as the knife design more than outweighs the marketing lettering they left on the blade.
In my racing days, we used copious amounts of sharpie marker on the lettering of tires when we used wasn't given to us by sponsors (sometimes they just don't have what you need available for the conditions).
