Recieved the knife in the mail yesterday and just had a chance to really look it over. It is in a word very very well made. Well 4 words actually. Sharp as the dickens too. I thought the blade might be a bit wider but it is very similar to my old 119. Now what I am looking for is a wider BUCK fixed blade. Does anyone know if they make them wider? Can the custom shop make one that has a nice wide blade on it? What about the newer 119's, I know they are shorter obviously by a couple of inches but are the wider as in more stout? I know the Buck/Strider vairant would probably fit the bill but with the prices they are bringing I can't justify the cost. Okydoky, like the General just want something a bit more robust. Keepem sharp

Longbow ..Have you looked at a 124?The blade is wider but not as long as a 120.

wh4f, I checked and the 119 and 650 blades are the same as far as width but the 650 is for sure a thicker blade. 119 is .179 and the 650 is .236.

Longbow,
The 119 has always been the same length, plus or minus 1/8", and the same width. I wonder if the 124 might be the one you are thinking of?
We did a few bigger knives through the custom shop way back when, the most common is the clip point bowie. I bet the blade on that one is almost 2x as wide as a 119/120.
