It's also called Himalayan epoxy, it's made from tree resins. Applied hot, when it cools it's similar to what we know as epoxy.

I've never used it of course but I'm told the Kami's like it because once it cools it's basically done and they can keep working unlike most epoxy's which require hours or even days to fully cure.
Another plus or minus in some cases is you can heat it and it will go soft again. Many can put a handle in boiling water and remove it. It of course takes some effort but you can't do that with epoxy.
