I have mentioned a number of times that Hill thought knifemaking relatively easy, compared to his muzzle-loading contemporary Pennsylvania rifles. Mike Krall sent me these scans from his book of the subject:

What a great feeling it must have been when these made their way to your home. Both are real beauties.
I am particularly taken with the damascus knife. I find the overall shape captivating and the filework is slaying me, love it! Congratulations, Coop. I also feel like it is one of those "meant to be" things.
As you know it is all about the design, and the workmanship.
You're happy....that's all that matters, right? You know what is what, and when you find a maker that it clicks with....it's all good.
Me? I wouldn't trade my Burt Foster or Matt Diskin knives for anything.....Burt gives it the solid treatment....no stretching of the imagination or nostalgia required, Matt makes kickin' folders.
Between the two, there is some solid representation of what THIS is about.
