Okay...
Sorry I'm a lame photographer.
Its not my gig.

Here are a few photos of my contest knife.
Maybe I can get some of my pals to hook me up with some good photos soon. It's kind of hard to see the color in these.

Holly Crap!!! Nothing lame about that!   That is a Dream knife. Just because I like to torture myself, could you give the specifics on that work of art. Materials, size, insperation, whatever comes to mind? Thanks, Reagan

Saw it at BLADE. Amazing design and execution! Absolutely beautiful workmanship.

Very nice,

Jerry

Mick,
I do not post all that often, here, or anywhere for that matter, but I had to post and say WOW:eek:  :D If you put any version of that sweety into production it would be an incredable seller!! That is a wounderfully executed recurve on that knife. Recurve blades are my favorite blade shape. Your contest knife is one of the finest knives I have EVER seen. I will have to be happy with my GB though, as I am sure I would have to morgage my soul to afford such a true work of art. GREAT job Mick. Your work is breathtaking! Keep it up. Rick

Mick, is the knife blue due to heat the treatment. I was just re-looking at one of your heat treatment/tiger stripe explantions, and you said that S30V turns blueish. I was just wondering how you got it blue, and to say again, its an amazing knife. Thanks, Reagan

Actually, from what I understand, the blade is Titanium, with a Stellite edge incorporated (that wavy "hamon" is actually the line of demarcation between the ti and stellite).

Cool, thanks. That knife looks better every time I look at it.

Okay really quick,
The knife started as a ½ inch thick piece of 6AL4V Titanium.
All guards are integral.
The cutting edge is Stellite, which has been press fit, kind of like a jig-saw puzzle.
Handle is Mastodon ivory, which sits inside an integral carbon fiber pocket.
Blade length is 10 inches.

Gotta run

Man, the knife design is awesome, but I had no idea that those materials were used. Unbelievable, great work.
