"Early versions of the Blackhawk had checkered 6061-T6 aluminum handles, butt G-10 was soon adopted, and all Renegades have been of G-10."
It is hard to tell from the picture, butt the cutouts on the handle for accessing the hole are symetrical on this version and are more comfortable in use than the later G10.
One more I couldn't find for the group shot (the # actually has an 8 hidden in the glare)
I bought this Laguiole off ebay awhile back. Spyderco had them made by Ramco. Very nice quality. Here is a collage I made from the pics from the auction I won.
Spyderco/Ramco Laguiole , Yes just got one in plain edge.
Spyderco Black hawk , The blackhawk has a aluminum handle and was the first run I believe. YES this is correct. I have a Plainedge also and G10 liner and linerless with Ce,SE and PE . I got my first one in 94 before I went to the Riddle of Steel in 95. I lost a screw on that trip for the clip.
Thought you might enjoy this prototype Delica. The pink and purple as well as the white streaks are not painted on the handle, but are part of the FRN as near as I can tell.
chemist (and all) you're welcome. I love to share about the Q's. It took me a while just to find out what the first one I received was. Now with all the variations I just have to see if I can even aquire more . My last ones not in the picture are 2 sheepsfoot Solid bladed Q's (black and blue handles) and a Fish from Fred Meyers. I want to try to get all the outdoor companies like EMS,REI,cabelas, etc. It never ends.
Enjoy
Chris
