My CRK Frankenstein Slip-Joints

man this is sickly awesome, I'm rolling on the floor drooling to the pics!!!! some look freaky awesome!!!

does any of them lock? or does any lock side/framelock fit in a bit? just curious on engagements, not sure from the pics
any tilted pics?

the 2 non locking side friction folder sounds a winner to me! light tweaking to the design and it could work smooth

some interesting ideas here, hope Chris reads this post, one of the best ever!

Thanks for the pics. Some pretty cool combinations. I'm really liking the Umnumicarta 21. The blade fits nicely with the micarta inlays.

Thanks for the encouragement! Sadly none of them locked as the lock only works if you have a stop pin to press against, and the sebenza stop-pins and Umnumzaan stop lugs didn't hit at the right time. If you were willing to drill holes, you might be able to make a few of these function.......but that would take a braver man, or more deranged man than me, with more money as well. I like the two front slabs idea. If you didn't swap blades, you could actually turn a 21 into a nice slip joint like that, though most slip joints benefit from a detent spring. You could also make a disposable Sebenza out of two lock side slabs. You could open it once, but never close it again because you could not disengage both locks simultaneously! :unconscious:

Well if I am going to bump "the tale of three pivots", I might as well bump this thread as well, which is the love-child of having figured out all the pivots were the same size. Still look back on these discoveries fondly. What fun!

Two more models to consider. And after doing these two, bravo to Kidcongo for doing all that he did. I know now his took some time.
First up is the (as I call it) The ZaanBG-42

And next is the UmnumRegular:

The umnum regular is sick! Love how the traction scallops match the jimping.

With all the talk lately about different blade shapes, I thought I'd give this old thread of mine a bump. Yes it also brings forward the knowledge that all the CRK pivots are the same size (25,L21,Zaan), which seems to need re-iterating from time to time.
