My current Edc

Where I live it is legal for me at my age to carry a knife as long as not in government buildings or school grounds.

"big quick action knife"?
First of all I carry my knife to be prepared for multiple scenarios.
I use my knife very often to cut things and open boxes and what not.
I think you are a little off by saying for me to carry a Swiss Army knife!
It would not hold up as a very good edc knife it is a useful multitool but not a edc knife.
Why are you disturbed by this? I am not looking for someone to stab on the streets..
My knives I carry are not just for cutting things though. I do feel quite secure knowing that I have a blade that had te ability to aid me in a dangerous encounter.
I am not sure why you think my age really affects this. I am not a small child that can not fully think for himself.
By the way i am experienced in martial art forms as well. 7 years of jiu jitsu as well as training in krav maga.
Please elaborate on your side if you would.

Word (;

I used to carry a Dejavoo. I miss that knife. Don't worry about your peers. Girls like a little danger right?
When I was 16 I carried a big cheap assisted opening knife that I bought for $12 at an army navy store. No one I hung around with was ever upset about it, but then again I had a mohawk, leather jacket steel toed boots etc etc. Maybe they just weren't surprised :) Since then I've pretty much always carried a 4" folder. Right now it's the Cold Steel Hold Out. My light is a fenix pd30. I get more comments on it than I do my knives.

Anyway, you ought to get yourself some carhartts. Short pants are for kids. ;)

Oh! Speaking of lights, My EDC is a Fenix LD22... Love it cause it throws a good amount of light, is light and stim enought to carry without many noticing, and most importantly, it runs on AA's :)

OP, what you need is a Leatherman Micra. They're very un-intimadting and can be put on a carabiner, which can be put on a belt loop.

Jiu-jitsu eh? I've been doing it for two years now, cool to see there are some other people on here with the same hobbies (other than knives of course). :)

I did 10 years of tomiki aikido, and just recently started taking tae kwon do again, just to get in shape so I can eventually switch to jkd.

I did Tae Kwon for a few years when I was younger... It was really just watered down martial arts and filled with little kids (and some older kids), and the belt tests weren't real. You essentially had to pay $200 for a test that you couldn't fail.

Sorry to hear that. In the 1970s I trained Kenpo karate, and in 1980, at 17, my teacher flunked me twice for black belt, and I had to go through the entire test each time. Finally, after about three months, I passed the 3rd time. All but one other in the class were adults. As I recall, I only paid the testing fee once, and it held until I passed. I don't think it was expensive, either; maybe less than $50 at the time(?). Over the years, I have also trained judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, etc.; but for the past 20 years my art has been Choy Lee Fut.

Knifeandgun:

I don't think your current EDC is 'lame' at all. The Dejavoo and Griptilian are good knives.

The Delica could be a great option for you, if it's to your liking. It's very comfortable and works great as an EDC. Then you'd simply have to decide between FFG or saber grind.

As to lights, all I carry is a tiny Micro Photon on a key ring.

Im 16 and carry a Cold Steel Ak-47. I am very discreet with it due to the fact that most people around here are genuinely afraid of knives. Those that aren't carry tiny pocket knives. Even people who claim to collect knives seem uncomfortable around me once they see my edc. :P

My dad's friends on the other hand are quite different. love it when one of us gets a new edc. We always talk for hours once one of us acquires a new knife. Especially a more tactical one.

I would think that martial arts training would be of greater use than carrying a knife. And even better to have track and field experience in an altercation...I'd prefer to run away...very quickly.
You carry a knife; he has a gun. Who wins?
I carry a knife to cut things, certainly. But I do NOT consider it a defensive weapon, as I am
untrained in using one for that purpose.
