Today I took my daughter Sophia on her first boat trip fishing in our local lake. She caught a 1.5 lb crappie and a 1/2 lb. perch. She was very excited and got a kick out of netting the fish that I caught. We had dinner on the boat and ice cream after we got off the water. A proud day for me and a fun day for her. She told me she likes fishing and wants to go again. :D :D :D

Cute kid. I bet she takes after her mother. Wait a minute, I know she takes after her mother. (Fortunately.)

Those pix are keepers: Dad doesn't have to fish alone any more! :D

Once again; SOOOO CUTE!!!! Ah I love little kids! I really wanna have a daughter like that someday...get her into knives, flipping balisongs, clint eastwood movies, the outdoors, firearm safety....the list goes on and on. :-D

I've been outfished by a 4 year old kid! Groan!!! Does she give lessons?

Cheers, Acolyte.

The trick is to drink some magic pink lemonade!

She asked what she has to do to catch a fish. I told her skill, a good rod and reel, better tackle, and patience. She looked at me funny. Like this.........  So I told that drinking pink lemonade helps catch fish and I guess it does because right after she took a sip from the jug she caught one.

Little girls are gifts from God. You have a very special girl there.
Cool pics.

She's cute as a button. And she has better luck fishing than I do, too. Gotta get me some'a that magic pink lemonade.

Check out the new brand at your local supermarket -- pink lemonade with a worm floating in it.

Ken , reminds me of one of my first outings with my Dad and his buddy . I was 5 and I think the other guys kid was 6 or 7 . My Dad was getting rods together on the end of a little lakefront peir, spun around and knocked the other kid into the drink. I don't think it was as funny then.

Positively adorable. The cap on crooked in the first photo is the coup de grace!

Awesome Ken! Your daughter is a cutie...but just because you have a knife for all occasions, you can't keep cutting the crust off her sandwiches.

You are one example that I want to follow, fishing is not necessarily with the guys only. My daughter is 2 1/2, I still have to wait a bit before she can catch her own fish and I can be a proud dad like you, Ken.

Ken,

Your daughter is adorable! :)

I used to go fishing with my grandfather when I was little. I never actually caught anything. I just watched him, held the rod once in awhile, and played with the fish that he caught. :D Anyhow, the time we spent together was very special to me. Nowadays, every time someone talks about going fishing it brings me back to those days and reminds me of my grandpa. He was a BIG fisherman. You may not be able to appreciate just how meaningful such trips to the lake will be to your daughter. This is especially true as she gets older. Just the idea of fishing will always bring a smile to her face. And just look at that beautiful, little smile...:)

You're blessed. :)
