My daughter's graduation knife-(update) goes to college

Congrats from Amsterdam as well!
Beautiful daughter!
Beautiful wife!
Beautiful knife!
Lucky man!

Thank you for the kind words. I showed Iris this thread and she had a big grin reading all of the comments.

Congratulations on her achievement, and what a beautiful knife to celebrate! Thank you for sharing!

Congratulations to Iris on the first of many accomplishments in life, and to you for providing her with a graduation gift she'll treasure forever. Hopefully one day, she'll pass it on to her kids with the story of how she earned it. The engraving to match her name is a very thoughtful and special addition. Good luck to her!

Thank you again for the nice comments. I added the image that I sent to the engraver on the first post, so you can see some of the process of getting an engraving done.

I dropped Iris off at college a couple of weeks ago. We used her knife on move-in day at the dorm. She even has a specific pocket in her purse to put it, so she can find it when she needs it.

I asked her today if she has used her knife much the first two weeks of school. She said "yes, a lot" so I asked her to list it out. This is what she said:
Cutting zip ties
Opening boxes
Cutting bread
Cutting boxes
Cutting tags
Turning a plastic water bottle into a funnel
Opening bags of food
Cutting fruit

That she is finding daily uses for the knife is icing on the cake.
