hello folks,

My 8 year old Daughter is having open heart surgery next Thursday to repair a whole between the upper and lower chambers of her heart. It is not a risky surgery, but the prospect of my only little girl being on a heart/lung machine for a few hours is not a pleasant one.

The hole is too large for the catheter type surgery, so it will be the full sternum splitting open heart variety.

I would appreciate your prayers. We have several family members to help with the other kids.

Thanks everybody!

Tom

You got it, sonny. Scary stuff. Little ones are strong, though.

All the best, Tom.

You got it Tom. This would scare the living hell out of me...

Prayers coming. Your God is a big God and he'll keep your angel in his hands. Do your best not to get too stressed, it won't help you or Abby (easier said than done, I know).

Thanks guys! Stress is not tooo bad...

very tired, as always!

As the Hobbits said, " And NOW to bed, and NOW to bed!"

The Lord has all of this perfectly under control. I am a "project" much like iron. Always in the forge, always on the anvil...

It has always been an easy yoke and a light burden for sure though!

Stay strong however scary it is now. My wife went through it awhile ago and the sight of her after the surgery was terrifying, but ... she eventually bounced back so well her doctors were even surprised. Attitude means a lot!

I will pray for her complete and swift recovery.

I'm glad you are handling the stress well.
I'd be a mess.

Positive thoughts and prayers out from the west coast for your family.

Good thoughts and heartfelt prayers on behalf of you and yours, Tom. :)

I firmly believe that the Good Lord never lets anything into our lives that we can't handle. He knows how strong you are- and how much you can count on those around you.

Just this week I saw that operation being done on a little 2-year old. No complications :)

I trust these folks know what they're doing. Best of luck to your daughter.

Smoke and prayers for you and yours, Tom. I'm sure everything will turn out just fine.

Prayer and Healing energy for your little lady from me and my three ladies.

Mark and Holly and our girls.

Tim was admitted to the hospital again tonight. he is putting out a lot of fluid again from his bowels. he was in for 4 days a few weeks ago for the same condition. Some kind of bug.

At least he is in the same floor where his sister will be.

I know many folks have much more difficult challenges in life. So I'm not complaining. We eat everyday, and have clothes to wear. The bills get paid. I enjoy many nice things, friends, work, etc. I love my wife of almost 20 years now, and have 5 great kids. God is good!

remember my wife also. She is up there with him tonight. I'm kind of glad she is not driving home this late.

Tom

Smoke and prayers for you all...
