Here are some picts of my day hiking kit. The contents are specific to identifying wild plants. I prefer a shoulder bag so I can open it hassle free and pull a book out for reference. You might not notice my stainless GI canteen cup/stove. Purchased because of WSS member input.

I like the simple kits like this one more than the hundred items in an altoid tin. Good color bag too. Is that pot/cup steel or alluminum?

OOPS! It is a stainless cup-pot.

Yeah, BTD, Too many little pieces just end up getting tanlged together. I take the kiss approach. There are a few items in some pockets in the bag, like a photon light and compass.

Looks like a great kit. looks like you have anything you could need for a dayhike, that's about the same type of stuff that I carry.

BIG ditto to that. Simple is better.

I really like the items you chose, and a lot are similar to my setup. I also like the basic GI cup/canteen, still hard to beat even compared to my Guyot/filter/cup setup.

cool pics man... nice and simple looking kit...

i still need to do something with my patches...:o

Thanks, It seems we all tried the altoids and went into the woods then realized we don't use any of it except for a few items.

Got to run my Son, wife and I are driving to CAli right now from Mississippi. Car camping all the way. :D
