My Delica lost its snap!

Got my brand new ZDP Delica in yesterday and had a set of Allan Putman Aluminum scales waiting for it.

The factory setup was of course sweet. Smooth opening, snappy closing.

I installed the scales (first time taking apart the Delica) and now the snap is gone. Think my pivot is too tight?

The Delica only goes together one way so i'm curious as to what it may be :( Cant wait to get home and mess with it some more but any pointers would be appreciated.
 
The scales can rub the pivot, I had a similar situation changing scales on a dragonfly, orange df2 scales to an H1. It may just need to wear in.

Or do you mean the lock isn't as stiff, like you flipped the lock spring around and it's upside down?
 
loosened the lock bar screw a c-hair and now its snap is back!!!

I'm in love with this thing all over!

And props to Allan not drilling 9 extra frickin' holes in those sweet scales.

I built EXACTLY that configuration, and loved it. Putman makes his scales with close tolerances, so I had to tweak the tightness & tension a couple times to get it just right. It took a while to finally work out the stiffness, but once I did it was an amazing piece. I only sold it because I wanted something else more. ;)

HAHAHAHA I just snapped a pic on a pile of applications I was reviewing... I get alot of interesting applicants with unique requests at my restaurant.

I love Putman scales and have a few sets. They always fit beautifully!!

it aint just your resturant. kids and folks dont want to work anymore.

nice setup on your delica. i always liked the factory scales but those are quite nice.

I have a set of red Anso style scales on a DLC PM2 and its my favorite PM2 :)

This Delica is now up there also!

Glad to see so many people here appreciate Mr Putman's work
 
He's a great guy brother!
E mailed with him a bunch of times and he's really cool and will do whatever he can to make a customer happy.
He's hooked me up a bunch of times.
