My Demko Custom!!!

Love that ti backspacer. Glad I went with it. Can't wait til everyone sees mine. I imagine there might be a sharp divide about whether people think I improved it or made it worse with my request.

What did you ask for?

Wait...what size blade is "the larger one"? What does the blade look like with the reinforced tip? I'll have to email Mr. D and ask him to alter my specs a little.

Welcome to the club. I use and abuse my Navajah (Espada based) daily.

I really like the hollow grind on this knife.:)

Thats one of my favorite things about mine too! I didn't like it at first and felt a flat grind would have been more appropriate for this class of knife but after using it and seeing the thickness of the stock it came from you really gotta hand it to Andy. He does a hell of a job on this model!

Mine weighs in at 7.8 oz, but they can vary depending I would think.

:p Mine weighs 8.2 ounces! Its all due to the .100 liners though. I like big tough folders though what can I say! Sometimes I wish I had another just like it with no liners at all and if my wallet could handle it I would do that but I've got one more on order from Andy (different model) and that will have to do me for a while.

Anyway, great knife and congrats on the purchase Mmarkh. Its one of the best hard use knives money can buy and I don't care what you compare it to.

My next Demko will be a wharncliff kerambit.

Wait...what size blade is "the larger one"?

He has two sizes, one with a 4" blade (3.75" edge) and one with a 3.75" blade (3.5" edge).

What does the blade look like with the reinforced tip? I'll have to email Mr. D and ask him to alter my specs a little.

The reinforced tip wasn't a standard option, I just asked if he could do it. I was gonna wait until I got a completed picture, but:

Damn, I hope I don't regret getting the .1 liners. That combined with the extra metal on the blade might make mine too heavy.

That is next on my wish list. I have to set up my new bow first.:D

Hate to burst your bubble but he said mine was 1 of 1 and is stamped on the lock bar as such. It was a PIA to make.

I don't think anyone can regret one of these babies. Carry around a Rajah 1 for about a month before the Demko custom arrives and by the time it gets there you'll think its a light weight! :D

Seriously its a lot of knife but I love it just the same and its found a permanent home here. My next model will be G10 only though but its a smaller knife and not near as thick stock or anything so its not even going to be the same league as this big boy is. Quite frankly I've bought as many customs as I have production knives in the last ten years and of all the custom folders I've owned this one is "the" knife I'd keep if all others had to go.

I just checked and found that my Leatherman Wave is 8.5 oz. I could deal with that:thumbup:

I know, yours has the thick liners. :D

I wanted mine to be thinner and more contoured, mine is heavily contoured. :)

It's the most comfortable folder I have ever held period, nothing else even comes close.

Great pics and discussion, guys! Around this time next year I should have a Demko of my own to show off.

Any chance that any of you have a production CS American Lawman that you could take pics of the Demko custom next to? Like RevDevil, I'm thinking of emailing Andrew to change my order to the larger version. But I'd like to get an idea of how the size would compare to my production Lawman first.

I've got one on order with Andrew also - and unfortunately I will not see mine until 2012.
