I changed my avatar to an actual pic of my dog, Alice. If you have negative thoughts about poodles, well, don't share them with me! I took this picture of her after asking her, "Where's your zebra toy?" She tilted her head (when I snapped the pic) and then looked around and then sniffed through her toy box until she found the zebra toy.

She is one good looking bitch! ;) :D

And that from a man who knows a few things about Avatar babes!

Seriously, though, she is an adorable-looking dog. Standard poodles are very intelligent... very energetic, but very intelligent.

I had one for 20 years from when I was a kid into adulthood.
There is no smarter purebred dog.
But please loose the poodle cut.

We have two old ladies that live near us. . . .and they have two "standard" poodles.

Big asss dawgs !

The only problem. . . .the old ladies like to dress the damm things up. . .hats, booties, shirts, and shorts. Ya know. . .the kinda material that old people use for drapes. :barf: :(

I feel sooooo damm sorry for the dawgs ! You can see it in their eyes and their stance. . . ."Undress me, old stinkin' women !" :D

:D Some funny people runnin' around ! :D

Drifter D. GSD. says looking at that shaved snout makes him hot.
A friend of mine has two Standard Poodles. They are wonderful dogs.

I was just thinking the same thing about your avatar ;) :D

K.V. if my comment above will get this sent to W&C, I'm sorry and please edit it. Not my intention :p ;)

Is it just me or do all three of our pooches have the "What in the heck are you doing?" or "Why are you making me do this?" look... LMAO :D

Poodles are cute & smart but mutts are ... well... mutts! Clyde doesn't play with zebra toys... he's got me! :)

TomW, Alice doesn't have a show cut; she has a "lamb cut" which isn't all frilly and stuff.

I don't dress her up, but I do make her pretty collars and sometimes put bandana's around her neck. I even have a camouflage one, which the guys at work like. (She comes to work with me every day.) Also, I work with all "knife guys" and they'd come after anyone who insulted Alice! She can win anyone over. :D

Hey, I'm a girl and my dog's a girl; we're allowed to look like girls! :p Alice likes to look pretty. Also, poodles' hair keeps growing and doesn't shed, so you have to clip them. I take her to the groomer every 5 weeks and brush her every other day.

As for the pics you guys posted, cute dogs, all of them. :)

Funny you mention the lamb cut. Mine was a toy. Obvious since those are the ones that live 20 years. I used to walk him to a local pond where there was a beach. He was white. I heard many times "look he's walking a lamb"
thanks for the memory.. you forget things like that

How did the portrait come out? I imagine that it will find a prominent place in your house. When I left home, my mother gave me a framed picture of our dog, which I really valued. Unfortunately, it was in a box of stuff that got stolen in college. Otherwise, I would have it hanging in my home today, even though that was 20 years ago. That was a great dog that I still think about when I see one that looks similar.
