My dog isn't doing well...

It seems like you are doing all you can. Now all you can do is hold his paw and let mother nature do her work.

I'm real sorry to hear about this and hope the vet can get it under control fast.
Fluid buildup like that can be painful in itself, whatever is causing it.

Bring him to next meeting and we'll all chase him around the parking lot so he'll feel like a pup again! :D

Thanks again everyone! I had to go to work after Clyde's visit with his vet and was back home at 5:40pm. As I opened the front door, there was no Clyde greeting me. I crept down the hallway to my room where Clyde has his bed and there he was... lying in his bed staring at me! The ol' rascal gave me 2 wags of his tale and I gave him a great big hug! His leg is still swollen and he's supposed to get some rest and stay off his feet for a bit. Of course he 'wobbled' after me out to the kitchen. I quickly wipped up Clyde's dinner and while he nibbled away at it, I gave him a bowl of fresh water. About an hour later, this is what he looked like...

(pm answered Mongo... and thank you!)

Clyde's one very very lucky pup to have you for a caretaker and friend Clydetz. Here's wishing him a quick recovery.

It says in the Bible that God loves animals so I know He'll hear the prayers and take care of Clyde!!!!!!!!

He is such a handsome dog! I hope the swelling goes down soon. It is good that he is eating and drinking water. He is lucky to have YOU taking care of him! Thanks for keeping us posted.

That has got to be the most beloved mutt on or around this particular corner of the net!:)

You got a lot of well wishes, prayers, and smoke floating around for that puppy Clydetz! Chambers/Squeezieball chiming in with mine! Best wishes to you both amigo! :D

I'm hoping he will be his ol' self in time for the next meeting so he can chase all you guys around the parking lot! :)

From the bottom of my heart... I thank you all for the well wishes! They must be working because when I came home from work tonight, Clyde was sleeping on the sofa in the living room. This morning he tried to get up on the sofa and was no way able to get up on it. My first thought when I saw him was that he had passed in his sleep. I gently called his name; he lifted his head; focused on me; slid off the sofa; stood on all four feet; yawned and wagged his tail! His leg is still swollen but he was walking around without limping or any sign of pain... I couldn't believe my eyes! :D I'll keep you updated.

He's not out of the woods yet. Mongo has given me some insight into what may have caused Clyde's swollen leg so I'm following up on this. I'm calling Clyde's vet today and letting him know of Clyde's progress and want to get my buddy X-rayed. Clyde's leg is still swollen but he's walking like it doesn't bother him in the least and he ate some breakfast, drank water and piddled & pooped outside. But you are right, jsmatos, today is starting out rather wonderful... for Clyde & me! :D

Clydetz: I am happy to hear that he is doing better. My dog and I have been praying for him!!! I am glad that he is ablle to walk without limping. Thanks for keeping us updated!!

Glad to read Clyde's doing better.

Here's to his continued improvement.

Clyde's leg is still swollen but noticeably better. He's climbed up on the sofa sleeping to his heart's content! I took him to the vet today and the vet likes the improvement in Clyde! If all goes well tonight, I plan on taking him for a short walk tomorrow and see if he's up for a ride to the deli for my coffee and maybe a snack for him. He was hungry enough tonight to eat everything I put in his bowl + several new snacks. Thanks for all the well wishes for Clyde.

I am so happy to hear that he is doing much better!! And that he ate all his food. How awesome is that he climbed up on the couch. Yeah!!!!

A good dog is an amazing creature. They will always be your friend and ask so little. Man could take some lessons from these fine animals.

So is Clyde out of the woods now? Romping around and destroying furniture and stuff? Any more follow up Vet appointments scheduled?

Inquiring minds want to know. Well, my mind wants to know.
