my DREAM project has started.

That is funny

the only difference is tiny changes in case dimensions, you can fire .50 BMG through a .510 DTC. the .50 BMG is banned by dimension in Cali. but you make a tiny change in the dimensions of the case and you are GTG.

Ok i have decided that this is knife related because i will use it as a testing tool to see if my L6 forged blades can withstand the impact of a 50cal round. that way i will know if thy are to brittle. what if i shot the sharpened edge with a solid brass bullet and was able to split it ;). O ya before i forget i need a way to coat or protect the various parts that i make from aluminum. i figure all you clever people here would have a secret. I have seen knife handles made from aluminum that don't really have the problem of rubbing off on your hands. i would like to avoid the black rub off. so i have been spending every night going through ballistic tables and muzzle breaks and barrel lengths and tapers. as well as recoil from different barrel lengths. so what i have decided is that i am not in need of a 35-40 pound bench range rifle only. so i decided i wanted it a bit lighter as i will most likely take it hunting. so i decided on a 22" barrel with a good taper to it. and i am making it a bull pup style so i can fire it from a standing or prone position if needed. i have done many drawing on auto can and this is how the current version will look. by cutting the barrel down from 30" to 22 i onley loose areound 200 feet per sec. which does not realy bother me as i''m still going to be around 2600 ft/sec. also people told me that the shorter you make the berrel the stronger the recoil is, now that is true for most rifles because the gas is leaving the barrel at a much higher pressure therefor increasing the recoil. but a muzzle break gets better and better with higher and higher gas velocity. from what i have read there not very efectave on long barrel rifles very much at all, maybe a little. but thy realy shine on the shorter barreled ones. now muzzle blase is a another matter as it will be much bigger but o well go big or go home right.

As well as, last time I remember, the President signs the laws...the congress makes them. I always get a chuckle out of the sheeple saying ,"Oh woe is me, now that the new President is in office he Will do ......."
Stacy

Stacy's absolutely right, congress writes the laws and there are good checks and balances with the executive branch:eek:.

Times they are a changin', Craig

with that short of bbl, break, and stock the concussion is going to be... unreal(posibly doing bodly harm).

Cool thread Jarod. Need more pictures though. You have our attention ya big tease! You going to put a folding knife on the left side?

I doubt 22" would do bodily harm to the shooter, check this out. The BA50 is interesting in that even though it is a right handed rifle, the bolt is on the left side so the shooting hand never leaves the rifle. I have actually handled this rifle in the range pro shop.

ya it will be fine, a 22" barrel is not to short. here is a company that makes in with an 18" barrel. now that might be pushing it but hay they are very popular.

so if i add a big blade on one side i could call it my folding 50 ;)

O and here is a ba50 carbine with a 22" barrel firing.

That's intense. . and from far away it looks like they're holding a paintball gun.. that's one heck of a paintball.

Any ammunition over 1 inch is considered a destructive device, and the tax is $200 per round!
Nice .50!

Sonofagun!
Yeah, I saw this article too, but I guess I just glossed right over the second paragraph, where it says "This DIY rifle built by Youtuber JTCustomKnives..."

Very cool.
