My edc gear. What am I missing?

This is what I had on my person today.

Normally I would have my Fenix P1D on me but one of my littles walked off with it and it's MIA. :grumpy:

Anyhow...

Suggestions on what I am missing?

I do carry a bigger blade and a bigger kit in my bug out bag but this is what is on me all the time. The folder switches everyday but it is either Strider, Hinderer or Yuna.

A pic of everything. I do have cell that I carry but it's not in the pic.

I suppose I am heavy in the sharp edge department but hey...what do you expect? This is Blade forums after all. :D

A close up of the ring of stuff that rides in the side pocket of my carpenters jeans.

From left to right.

Mini Flashlight with rotating clip.
Split Pea lighter.
Razor
Tweezers
Sharpener
P51

You know what would really rock.

If I could get the knife blade taken out of that sideclip and a nice pair of scissors put in it's place...and a nice pair of nail clippers put in the other side like the ones on that swiss army nail clipper thingy...

I guess I could just put of of those Swiss Army things on my ring.

:D

a whistle.
You can signal help for a lot longer or when you are too worn out to shout.

(If you get one like this, use a drop of gorilla glue on the inside to seal the white internal piece into place)

I'll echo the ferro rod suggestion, (bsa hotspark) is ideal for a kit like that.. Also a spy capsule of PJ soaked cotton, and another with some motrin in it..also a vic classic is a nice addition and maybe a small compass. Nice set up over all though bro.

I like to carry a few first aid items with me. Band-aids, band-aid tape, and a small roll of bandage can fit into an Altoids tin with room to spare for a few PJCBs.

Otherwise, it looks like a good set of everyday items.

All the best,

- Mike

+1 on the first aid stuff. I cut myself today and it bled a lot. No amount of paper toweling from the mens room seemed to help.

I finally got it to stop with a bandaid. I am going to start carrying a few with me in my edc stuff.

I have to have a pen and at least something to write on. If not a small note book, then at least a half sheet of paper folded up in my wallet. For a pen, the Fisher Stowaway is inexpensive, almost weightless, and small enough to hide anywhere. Inka makes a nice pen that would look real nice on your keychain. Another alternative is a Victorinox Signature. It's basically a tiny Classic with a pen instead of a toothpick.

I was gonna quote everyone but this is easier.

Whistle (Got one I will put on ASAP.)

Two can openers...I bet you are right but it's light enough that I don't mind.

Ferro Rod. (Already on order.)

First aid...Duh...I must be dense. :D

Pen...awesome. I'll look into the ones you mentioned.

Spy capsules with some PJ soaked cotton and one with some advil type stuff maybe an extra high blood pressure pill or two.

Awesome guys!

Thanks!

:D

Heavy, could you post a close up of the latch on your paracord bracelet? I've never seen one done like that before.

As far as the EDC, bandaids can go in your wallet. I would also replace the LED light with one that doesn't have that big bulky clip. Save it for a strap somewhere. Since you are already pretty well covered on blades, you may want to lose the razor & replace it with a little pry bar.

I'd go with a mini bic. I don't smoke, but find them incredibly useful.

That clip is removable if you want. I find the clip useful for clipping to the brim of my hat or on my watch band. I have 5-6 of those for zipper pulls, my sternum strap and FAK. They only cost $1.50, but beware, if you go to their site you will probably spend at least $100.:) Gotta love County Comm.

They also have the small PicoPen that I'm going to add to my next order.

They also have a small water resistant FAK for $1.95 that would compliment the FAK in your BOB.

That clip comes off. I have been debating on whether to leave it there or not...

I also thought of losing the razor and replacing it with a pry bar and one of those saw blade ones countycom sells.....and no I don't have a problem....I can stop buying from countycom whenever I want! ;)

Here's a pic of the latch. I had these small s biners and I downloaded a tutorial on making these bracelets. Was one of those...hey you got chocolate on my peanut butter....type of moments. Works nice.
