My Edge Pro Apex Setup and Stuff.

I've found that the regular 1" wide stones do slight recurves like those on the 710 and 790 just fine.

so i am the only one who struggle with the stock stones ?

i'm trying to save some money for some EP shapton stones. i'm used to japanese waterstone and from my experience the 2 coarser stones really don't cut. the finish of the 120 and 220 is even brighter than the 320, i think those 2 are too hard to expose new abrasives fast enough ? for exemple if both are used free hand, the 120 stone cuts nowhere as fast as a 1000grit shapton pro.

i will give constant soaking a try before buying any upgrade.

The OEM stones are great, no real need for the $$$$ ones.

You have to keep them wet.

Heres my setup:

I don't soak my stones, but I do take them into the kitchen sink after i'm done and wash them with soapy water? Wonder if that's good enough, it seems to do the trick, except I can't get the 220 grit stone clean, maybe i'll try to soak that sucker.
