Finished this Knife for my Dad's Christmas present. Don't remember the exact lengths, but the cutting edge was about 3" and maybe a total length of 8-9". Made from 1095, african blackwood and amboyna wood handle. Also used some of my wrought iron for the guard. Tried mixing it up so I made a cool design on the guard... first time experiementing with file work so you know... its alright.

Feel free to critiqe, it only makes me better. I think right off the bat I need to refine my hand sanding, make the handle longer, and use a thinner guard material.

I'm getting a little fustrated because these Knives are taking too long to make so the next thing I want to get is a mill. Went to harbor Freight and they didnt have the model I want so I am going to have to wait. I just think I should be making them in half the time, or make something twice as good if I am spending 50 hours a Knife.

Thanks for Looking.

Looks great to me! So why should you make a knife faster? The knife is finished when it's supposed to be finished. Enjoy the processes. Enjoy the rythm of the filing on the guard, enjoy the feeling of a good fit on you materials. This a craft.

Many "happy" knifemakers make less than 10 a year.
