Being a small country and being the first KITH ran on the platform it is running on I am not unhappy with four contestants.
(Also there is still more then a week left for extra contestants to enter)
I wanted to try a few things and incorperated them in my entry knife.
I also enjoy making a Scandi sheath. They are pretty unforgiving but in a sleek way rewarding when done right.
I wanted to try a big-butt handle. It is rock solid in the hand when pull cutting, but still comfortable.
I'll be doing that again.
Boxwood, nice and subtile grain. (reminding me of a yellow blackwood)
And I used blue hardrubber spaces. I like how they look, but there surface holds metal and wood sandingdust wich is a chalenge to get rid of.
I used tape to pull the dust off.
(they say that blue is the new red)
The sheath has a matching blue thread and holds the knife, even when shaken upside-down.
(yeah!)
The blade is a bit over 3,5" long and almost 1" wide stainless Niolox.
That is a bit wide for a scandi but I wanted a high bevel.
(2x20degrees edge)
So any criticism?
What do you guys think?
As a right handed person you typically wear a scandi on your left hip, edge facing forewards.
