Just got a knife back from having it serviced by GEC and wanted to let folks know how it went.
The problem: My #72 lockback had developed more side to side blade play than I was comfortable with. There had been a little bit of play when I got the knife new but it increased with use. Never got near the point of making the knife unsafe or unusable but I felt it needed correction.
The solution: GEC tightened up the walk and the pivot. The action is solid but smooth (makes me realize it was probably too loose to begin with) and there is now zero play in any direction when the blade is open. Locks up solid with a nice snap.
Total turn around time: 27 days.
Verdict: GEC took care of my knife in a timely fashion and I'm very happy with the results.
