My fav Survival rifle

Good thing that was not a tusker!! Would have eaten up a leg :) Must have shot down through the opening in the skull for the ear.

My favorites are the CZ 452 Scout and my stainless/laminated 10/22. The CZ452 Silhouette(matte nickel plated/synthetic) looks like another good one.

I was thinking of a CZ or a heavy-barrel 10/22 myself, but lately I've been looking at .17HMR for plinking and small game. Sure the ammo's a little pricier but that's for twice the FPS and a flatter trajectory than 22LR, if at the expense of terminal energy (as I understand it just from what I've read)

Still undecided though, maybe a 22/.410 would be the way to go.

I've also been thinking of getting an air rifle for pest control at work. Just as an FYI, airguns above 500 fps are considered firearms in Canada, so one needs a license(PAL) to buy them. Doesn't affect me, but it may prevent some...That Gamo looks like just the ticket for crows, gray squirrels, and the odd raccoon (although coons don't come around much - probably all the dogs).
 
i have a gamo shadow 1000.. it's a great rifle.. i love it... i have taken out many small game with it..
