For many years I've been carrying a folder of one kind or another as my EDC. These have ranged from a Spyderco FRN Native to a Custom Larry Chew VooDoo Child. Well, I just made a radical change  ! Thanks to Josh Graham of Graham Knives. He and his brother Jon have come up with a very unique utility knife, called the RAZEL, which is a Fixed Blade Pocket Knife. Thanks to some excellent timing, I was able to purchase their last knife for sale, before they start setting aside all their wares for Blade. There are many variations, but you can see them for yourselves at their website.

I chose a 154CM satin finished 3" blade, with black & green Micarta satin finished scales and black Micarta pins. This is pretty much their standard model. I opted for the optional leather sheath, instead of the standard Kydex, and I'm very glad that I did. The sheath has a very unique clip design that holds the sheath secure in your pocket when you draw the knife. The blade design is very atypical, as pocket knife blades go. Check the photo that I "borrowed" from their site. It is a full 3/16" thick, is double hollow-ground, and is sharp as a razor, from where it gets part of its' name. The chisel namesake is also quite obvious.

I have been using this knife for about a week now, and it has not let me down once. No matter what I need to cut, this baby handled it. One added advantage with this knife is less wear and tear on my Jeans. Since the sheath stays in your pocket, you're not constantly pulling the clip across your pocket.

Sorry if this comment on my dealings with the Graham Bros. sounds like a commercial for their knives, but it's difficult to comment on the craftsman, without mentioning the uniqueness of their product. For those lucky enough to be able to attend Blade, you gotta check these guys out. In addition to their standard Razel Utility Knife, Josh told me they would have some larger models that would be of particular interest to EMTs, LEOs and Firefighters. I wish I could make it!

Edited to correct thickness of blade to 3/16" - What was I thinking  ?
