So, my dearly beloved is no knife knut, but she likes them and has a small collection of her own. Well, I had a good chunk of my collection laid out for sharpening last night and we were chatting about knives.

Well, she pulled her knives out so I could sharpen them to and then, looking at them with a critical eye, informed me that she needed a new knife and that I should get her one.

Long story short, now I'm in the market for a Brous Sniper with a purple or blue anodized handle. I applaud her eye for quality, but I wish she had less expensive tastes!

Once upon a time a king had a choice between 3 wife's...
The first was beautiful and was into hunting and fishing, she wanted her king to be pleased.

The second was a stockbroker who could maintain and add too the kings wealth.

The third was also beautiful and a culinary chef, she would pamper and spoil the king

Who do you think he married?

The one with the big bust
In all seriousness congrats on a cool fiance

Well, if your in this hobby long enough it's only a matter of time till you want an upgrade.

The answer is simple: marrying all three.

Well, I may have talked her down to a pink Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight. Which has the added advantage of greater practicality.

So, what you are really saying is that she will end up with the Brous and the Spyderco.:D

A pink native sounds great. And correct me if I'm wrong, won't the anodized handle on the brous show more wear? Might be an angle to convince her on.

Recommendation: don't try to talk her into a cheaper knife. It just says you are cheapy and it's a bit like herding cats. What lady wants, lady gets. Besides, knives are cheaper than diamonds (at least most of them are :-)

Get her whatever she wants then add something special to it. You will find "Happy wife, happy life".

You silver-tongued devil you.:) Brous>Gucci in my eyes, and Gucci is the brand i gotta listen to. It'll be good karma for you. Get her one.

D'oh she went for the D2! I feel like that's the road less traveled for modern knives. Nice!

Personally, I'd hand her my credit card and say "buy whatever knife you want". If you know/trust her well enough, you know that she will buy the Brous.

The plus side, is that allowing her free-access to your funds will make her feel powerful (and most of us know that women love power:D) and may benefit you later that night;):p
