My finger "surgery" - Walt

I am a Medical Student but when I had I referred to the Doctors, It was my parents, and they have been doctors for a long time, and furthur more really dont appreciate those remarks.
plus its not like I was just yelling at him o STICK SOME BANDAIDS ON THERE, its just that as he said earlier he cant pay for the operation, and I respect that, so we all have to kind of deal with because a decision is a decision and that is just what he is choosing to do..

And when I had cut my finger just as he did, he is naming off all he same feelings and i as I d when I was going to get my finger fixed.

Butterflies should hold it and then add some guaze on the outside to protect it.

That is really a good thing to do.I dont know hy you guys think you should waste the mony because if he will loose anything it ill be partial feeling and not its whole movment..

And I even checked that through with several other dotors at my school....

THANX ONCE AGAIN FOR THESE INQUIRIES

GET IT FIXED ! ! ! !

Listen to Paracelsus and get it fixed.

I have been there. Ten major broken bones. Hundreds of stiches. Four reconstructive surgeries. (all thanks to my Uncle Sam) I would not have passed up on any of them.

Please get it fixed, it is worth any money to have all your "parts" working.

THANX ralphtt for hearing he out and all and thanx eeryone else,

I think facing a severe disability for the rest of one's life is Very Serious and not a joking matter. Especially when something can be done about it. Furthermore, Mickey's claims to being a medical expert (doctor/student/god knows what really) and giving bad advice is Extremely Serious indeed.

Paracelsus, still a very concerned person

Tuff you should get the surgery. Money is only transitory and nowhere near as important as your physical well being.

Here is my math: 3 of his fingers are uninjured, the 4th finger is the injured one and the last digit is his thumb. I could be wrong though.

Maskwa, your medical information is Correct. It surprises a lot of folks to find out that their Thumb is Not a finger. An anthropologist might describe humans as fourfingered bipeds with opposable thumbs. Thanks.

My new American Heritage Dictionary lists the definition of Finger the Same way. Please pay particular attention to the second part of the sentence. To a physician, the First finger is your Pointing finger. The pinkie is your Fourth finger. The Thumb is a thumb. Being precise about language usage is important in some fields of knowledge. Dictionaries of Common Usage of words, and Medical or Scientific Usage of word will Often differ, differ.

Paracelsus, thanks to you also, Robb (Is there an echo here somewhere?)

Knives and Cars...
Simple but EXPENSIVE.

I just noticed that TUFF hasn't replied once yet. it's like a soap opera revolving around him, and he's not here!!!! or maybe he's reading it and realizing it was a bad idea to not get the surgery. or he's making the whole thing up just to get a twisted laugh out of serious reactions..... or maybe it really happened, but he wants us to think it was fake, so he can use this to feel better about himself by making us feel bad about him...... can't go any further... must sleep.

Unocide; Tuff has taken this discussion off the forum and is corresponding with me by e-mail. He plans to have the surgery.

Regarding nomenclature of the digits. The unambiguous way to describe them is thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, little finger. Doctors generally consider the hand to have five digits, but only four fingers.

Hope this helps, Walt

Thanks for the help with the 4 fingers guys.

Automantic,

I gave up trying to find out what the speed of dark is, it was giving me a long term headache. I've decided that it must me equal to the speed of light.

OK First Off I would like to say that Paraclesus I really do not appreciate that student, expert, God, comment and you have done nothing in this forum except put others down. You really need to learn to have more respect for the people here in the forums, I know as the rest of us that this is no joking matter, but being rude is no way to solve your problems....

Mr Walt Welch I do appreciate all the help and how you are dealing with Tuff 1 on 1, Although he is not taking my "advice", I am still glad that he is going to get it fixed.

Furthur more i would like to add that I was just trying to cope with what TUFF had said, he said he wasnt taking the surgery, So I decided to be with him on it because we had given him so much support already....

THANK YOU ALL and especially WALT WELCH

Glad you're planning on having the surgery done Tuff. Your 2000 dollars is well spent, as you are going to use that finger everyday for the rest of your life.

Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah, I am going to have the surgery, if I can schedule an appointment. It'll be late, but this Monday is the date, 17 days after I did it. Hope it can still be fixed. Hoping. Otherwise i'll be selling most my fixed blades and becomign a "folders only" guy.
The real problem I have now is this - what do I tell people in regards to the scar on my hand? I stopped a hostage situation in Boston? Saved the Secretary of Defense from a bladed attacker? Need some help here folks - what story do I tell people when hen inquire about what that scar is on my hand?
