My Fire Kit

Argh. I have been sitting on the fence about this one for a while now, and I have decided that I have to pull the trigger.

John, is there any way that you could swing a walnut handled set with misch metal and a profile that resembles a small Hudson Bay? I think that would make an awesome companion to my larger HB.

I will fire you an email with the specs this week.

All the best,

- Mike

PS - if that #9 spot remains up for grabs and there or no takers, I'll take it!

I`m sure I can ;)

Is there room in the sheath somewhere to shove in a small piece of fatwood and some jute?

I would like this.

I may be able to add a pocket to the back, don`t know for sure, it would cost a little more, leather is not cheap  No promises.

I was thinking the same thing. It seems to me that the best way to do this without making the kit any fatter would be to hang a fire steel type of loop underneath the kit. Maybe a 3/8" loop. Then we could run a piece of jute twine thru the loop and tie a knot on each end.

If your interested, I'll let you take my #9 spot. Let me know. And then you can pick your specs.

If you are sure, I don't mind if I do. I don't mind waiting either. Just let John know what you want to do.

and thanks very much for the offer.

No worries man, take it :).

If only because I feel sorry for you living in Upland :p. LOL, I'll be back in La Verne this week for a wedding. SoCal always gets my blood pressure sky high. :barf:

Take it easy dude.
:D

Anyone like to let me know what`s going on? Do I cancel the #9 spot for 11x11x and put C Bryant in it? 11x11x - do you want to keep the other spot as is, or change the handles or what?

The specs are fine for my #4 kit (tan micarta warnchilf & ferro rod). And I believe CB is willing to take the #9 spot.

I`ll be making 5 more fire kits in November. If you are thinking about getting one of these, order now! Just let me know which style knife, and whether you want a misch metal or ferro firesteel.

Hello, ive been a lurker here for some time now and after seeing these i have some questions. Heres my situation, my girlfriend has never owed her own knife and we were looking at your website for me and she saw your mini nesmuk. Lets just say she cant stop talking about it and its been 3 weeks. She wants the knife so when she hunts with me she has something on her belt like me. I dont have the 85 bucks for the mini nesmuk so im hoping i can get by with one of these. Here are my questions. 1) are the fire kit knives the same steel as your other knifes? 2) If i ordered the fire kit knife does the nesmuk option resemble the mini nessmuk blade? 3) Is the orange g10 carry the extra 10 dollar cost. I think thats it for now. O If anyone has a picture of the nessmuk fire kit knife that would be excelent. Thanks to anyone that can chime in.

1) Yes it is O1 like my other knives
2) It will have the same profile as the other Nessmuk, only smaller
3) I don`t understand your question, G10 is $10 extra, other micarta or wood is no extra charge, if that is what you are asking.
4) no pictures yet, I will be making one in about 2 weeks, and will post a pic.
5) don`t be just a lurker, join in, we have fun here!

I want one in Nov, If that is, I didn't already order one. Warcliff Green Micarta. I was thinking I ordered one but you know me, I might have forgot to remember not to forget.

You ordered a tan micarta Kephart fire kit for October, and a full size wharncliff in red micarta in November.

OK, I got it straight now, It has been a hectic month or two. Loved the picture of the Kephart, I think the wife might have four days off between working for the plant clean up team and the plant reopening next Wednesday. Might go camping and cat fishing.

John, I like to order two of these kits for the Nov run if there is still room

Nessmuk with brown micarta scales. Ferro rod firesteel.
