I wanted to share this here as well since I know a lot of you don't go to the knifemaker gallery.

This is my first two blade slip joint and my 11th slip joint to date. It is a milestone for me because it marks my first year making knives. I completed my first knife, a fixed blade, back in the end of August 2011. It was supposed to end up like my Uinta Bushcraft model but needless to say it fell a little short. I feel that I have made some progress over this year and hope the next one is just as good.

This is patterned after the Tony Bose Wharncliffe Trapper. It measures a little over 3 1/2" closed and is made with CPM 154CM. Handles are lightning strike carbon fiber over orange g-10 and earth brown g-10.

This knife is not for sale.

Thanks for looking!

Son, you got a real future in knifemaking! :D
Absolutely fabulous. I love that you keep going nonconventional in how you do your handles.

That brown and orange paired against the LSCF is amazing. Great looking knife Mr. Oeser. You sure do have a future building these. Congrats on your one year

J, love this knife, my favorite CF slipjoint ever. Congrats and looking forward to witnessing your career.

Very nice indeed- congrats on the mile stone.

Keep up the good work. -:cool:

Fantastic.

Very original choice of materials and finish.

Keep up the great work.

Looking good. Is there a reason you used the carbon fiber/G-10 laminate scales, or is that a distinguishing feature of your knives?

Congrats on the milestone Jared. That WT is WICKED! And I wouldn't expect it any other way  Keep up the great work.

Thank you everyone for the kind words.

Christian, the layers are really just for looks. I laminate them together and then grind the material down to under 1/8" so it does not increase thickness. I do that on my fixed blades and thought it might transfer well to slipjoints for a little something different.

Looking good. Is there a reason you used the carbon fiber/G-10 laminate scales, or is that a distinguishing feature of your knives?

Okay, I'm sitting at working trying to think of something epic to say, but realize the images speak for themselves. Congratz on the anniversary, man!
