My first 2 knife purchases !!

Thank you all for the welcome and the knife recomendations !! I have read about many of the recomended knives by you guys. I am going to get the leek next week, and then I want to get a nice benchmade and a nice spyderco. This forum is the best on the web for all information related to knives. I never knew their was so many variations in knives. I have learned one very important thing already though "You get what you pay for". Higher quality=$$$. Any opionions on the CRKT m21-02 I like the looks of this knife and it has au8 steel. Thanks !!
 
I'd also include a decent chopper for your collection.The BK9 is a good one that will not break your budget.

I found that CRKT tend to run there steel on the soft side, quality is ok, there CS is good (which is a good thing because you very well might need it). I think quality has improved since Ken Onion has been on board, but I haven't had any experience with CRKT in four or five years. Like you said, you get what you pay for.
 
First of all, welcome to Bladeforums!
If you like Kershaw, (Good choice) then I would definitely recommend the Skyline 1760 and, as you said, the Leek. As for Benchmade, they are expensive, but there are a few what I would call "Budget" ones. I have the Benchmade mini ambush in combo-edge. Benchmade doesn't make them anymore, but you can find them on the internet for a little upwards of $30.

Spyderco Tenacious is a great great blade for 35 dollars. Also good luck stopping at 10 knives ;)
 
Spyderco delica 4, benchmade mini presidio (my favorite), ontario rat 1, spyderco cat and chicago if you want a smaller blade. Hope this helped
 
Kershaws are a good start. You'll need a Buck 110 as well. Pick up an Essee and I'd bet your neighbor will be impressed.
 
ZOMBIE REVIVAL THREAD ALERT!!!!! >6-months old. OP probably has 10 knives now and on a waiting list for an expensive Custom.
 
if i had to pick the first 2 purchases for under $80 i would have to go with the original manix 2, an a recon 1 for sure. Mini grip also , or maybe a delica 4 ffg, wait wait an endura.....ahh i dont know.
