My first ABS Knife.. Russ Andrews Hawthorne PC bowie and Paul Long sheath!!

Mmmmmm.... cheesburgers....

Looking forward to your new piece as well Danbo. In the near future, Russ will be sending me a new design of his - and integral camp knife - to take out and beat on hard. Should be fun!

Jeff - here is a pic of your Hawthorne, together with the damascus piece that you get a glimpse of in Starr's avatar, and a stag /carbon bowie that 'aint goin' nowhere:

Roger, thanks for the group pic! Glad they you were kind enough to unleash two of the three so a couple of us other guys get to own such a fantastic piece!
Stag! Damacus! Ironwood!! all things that make me drool!!

Jeff

The blonde Ironwood burl on that one was scarce then, and just about nonexistant now...

I hope you get alot of enjoyment from that one, Jeff, and many more.

Thankd for the comments guys....

Russ, Wow! I did not even know there was a blonde ironwood? that makes sense as the ironwood on this beauty is a bit lighter than other ironwoods I have owned.

In bright light it almost looks like it could be amboyna wood.

Thank you for making such a fine knife and the well wishes!

Jeff

Good for you, Jeff. I've never met an Andrews piece I didn't like. :D

This post also corroborates a statement and finding I've long had:

When a piece is SOLD it provides value back to (3) parties: The seller, the new owner, and the maker.

Win/win/win.

Coop (Who also 'won' in this viewing, but I'm not counting.) ;)

Roger I love the profile of that stag bowie. You are certainly right. No one, that I've seen, finishes a knife like Russ!

Great maker dressed up by the best PL. Congratulations for adding such nice work. Your collection is off to a fine start!

Jon

"What a way to start" NO DOUBT!!!! Talk about a blazing fast, running start!  :D

Russ and Paul are both so good it's scary. This is THE WAY to truly start an amazing collection.

Thanks nick, your fighter will be my number 4 ABS smithed knife in hand and quite a few more already ordered :)

So True Coop!
It's a great feeling to get a new knife and it's a great feeling to pass a great knife on to someone else to enjoy.

Suffice to say that you went straight up to the 10 meter platform for your first dive into the forged blade pool. After picking up a Andrews/Long combo like that, I hope you have enough money for your future purchases so that the experience won't be anticlimactic.:D
