My experience with the #56 and #66 patterns is the same as Trand's. I own or have owned one #56 and three #66 patterns and none of them were/are nailbreakers. Opening and closing the blades is a pretty laid back experience in my examples. I also agree that the GEC patterns without half stops, like these two patterns, will be easier on the nails in most cases.
You will be fine as long as you find a dealer that will look the knife over for you before shipping it.
