My first American traditional knife....

My experience with the #56 and #66 patterns is the same as Trand's. I own or have owned one #56 and three #66 patterns and none of them were/are nailbreakers. Opening and closing the blades is a pretty laid back experience in my examples. I also agree that the GEC patterns without half stops, like these two patterns, will be easier on the nails in most cases.

You will be fine as long as you find a dealer that will look the knife over for you before shipping it.

Good luck, Fausto! If you get one of these patterns I think you will be glad you did. Both are very nice and very well made. Should last you a lifetime if properly cared for.

I want to thank all of u for ur feedbacks. I'm on holiday now and I'm abroad, so I decided I will wait till I get back home, and then decide between the GEC #56 and #66, buy one online, and the rest only time will tell...
I have no clue of how much I will like American style folders, but anyway, I want to have one. I feel like it's a step I have to take, and want to take...
